Perseverance
She tosses the handbag swiftly over her shoulder. And then drags the thing several metres across the ground further. Half an hour later, she is standing with her head between her legs. Very smoothly, as if it were all nothing. Literally taking in the world from a different angle. Somewhat later, I admire her perseverance. One leg in an armhole, her head stuck in the piece of fabric as she makes an attempt to put her clothes on herself. Instead of letting me show her how it can be done, she stubbornly insists on discovering it herself.

Being in life as an adult from wonder, with the curiosity of a child, in my opinion.
A conscious choice
Although it seems like I have to move on at the end of a day with my granddaughter on a dead battery, these days are a conscious choice for me. What started as a promise to support my daughter and son-in-law became a choice to bond with my granddaughter. But what I had not seen coming is this: I see the world through her eyes. I also WANT to learn to see the world through her eyes. The unflappable will to master something. The connections she makes and insights she gains. The unfettered expression of her emotions, which are then gone within minutes. What an inspiration to be able to see the world without all those limitations (although they are there all too well!) and to approach it from possibilities. Delightful.
And exhausting (fair is fair ;))
Being an adult in life with the curiosity of a child - do you recognise this? It shows me that change often starts with simply looking differently at what is in front of you. Where do you discover that pure joy of wonder?
